What Is SLR Photography?
SLR stands for single-lens reflex. It is a type of camera used to take high-quality, professional-grade photographs. Using a prism and mirror system to reflect the images of what is being captured, a photographer can see exact details through the lens and capture them in real time.
What Do We Use SLR Photography For?
Our dental office uses an SRL camera to take extraoral images of your teeth. Most often used to record before and after photos, this technology is a great way to demonstrate the progress of a patients’ treatment, allowing for easy comparison between appointments. Unlike traditional dental technology, SLR photography is primarily used for cosmetic purposes during restorative treatments, such as dental implants, full-mouth reconstruction, Teeth-in-a-Day and implant-supported dentures, and is not used for diagnosis.
