Frequently Asked Questions

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They effectively conceal imperfections like stains, chips, or gaps and enhance the overall aesthetic of the smile, creating a uniform, natural look.

Suitable candidates typically have healthy teeth and gums but want to address cosmetic concerns such as discoloration, chips, misalignment, or gaps. Individuals with tooth decay or gum disease need to address these issues before getting these tooth shells to ensure optimal results.

The materials used are not only durable and resistant to stains, but they also closely mimic the appearance and properties of natural tooth enamel. It provides a realistic and long-lasting dental solution.

The process usually takes two or three appointments. The first appointment involves consultation and tooth preparation. After custom molds are made, the cosminates laminates are fabricated in a lab. At the final appointment, the tooth shells are bonded to the teeth and polished for a seamless fit.

Yes, those tooth coverings are an excellent solution for addressing minor gaps, small misalignments, and other cosmetic imperfections. By reshaping the teeth’s visible surface, these tooth coverings help improve the appearance of spacing, creating a more even, balanced smile.

After placement, these tooth shells are designed to feel natural in the mouth. They fit the contours of the teeth closely, offering both comfort and functionality. With proper bonding and care, they act and feel like natural teeth, allowing you to speak and chew normally.

After getting these tooth coverings, it’s important to maintain a good oral hygiene routine, including brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits. Avoid biting down on hard objects and maintain careful cleaning around the edges to prevent any damage or buildup of plaque.

These tooth shells are durable and long-lasting but not permanent. Although they can last 10 to 15 years with proper care, they may need replacement due to wear, chipping, or staining over time. It’s important to understand that the process involves irreversible enamel removal.

Whitening treatments only lighten natural tooth color, while they cover stains, chips, or imperfections and provide a complete aesthetic makeover. These tooth shells are a better option for more significant dental concerns that whitening treatments can’t address, such as deep stains or irregular tooth shapes.

During a consultation, your dentist will discuss your aesthetic goals, the types of materials available, and the process involved. The team evaluates the health of your teeth and gums, explains the necessary preparation steps, and sets realistic expectations for the final result.
