BOTOX®/XEOMIN®

Fast, predictable cosmetic improvements without having surgery.

BOTOX®/XEOMIN® is widely used these days for cosmetic improvement. It has been proven to remove lines and wrinkles, dropping years or even decades off someone’s appearance. It is also used for treating TMJ pain and discomfort. We can help increase your confidence and give you back that youthful, radiant smile.

What is BOTOX?

BOTOX is a liquid substance that can only be purchased and administered by a licensed professional. It is gently administered in the areas where there are wrinkles (such as the forehead, brows and around lips) to remove the unwanted signs of aging. The amount to be administered will be determined by your cosmetic dentist. The results generally last around 4-6 months, at which time the skin begins to revert back to its pre-treatment appearance.

When treating TMJ symptoms, BOTOX/XEOMIN is administered into the affected major chewing muscles, which allow them to relax and greatly decreases pain and discomfort. It can also be used for people who put major stress on their teeth, which leads to fracture of teeth and restorations.

What makes someone a candidate for BOTOX?

  • Aged 25-70
  • Visible wrinkles or interested in wrinkle prevention
  • Headaches, tightness, history of clenching/grinding
  • Shows too much gum tissue when they smile
  • Excessive facial sweating
  • Must understand that results are temporary and irreversible during the 4–6 month timeframe
  • Wants to improve the cosmetic appearance of their face without having surgery
  • Open with doctor about expectations and reasons for wanting the treatment

Frequently Asked Questions

BOTOX and Xeomin are neuromodulator injections that relax muscles to reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines, and can also help lessen jaw tension and discomfort from clenching or grinding. They offer both cosmetic and functional benefits.

Ideal candidates are adults with visible wrinkles, an interest in wrinkle prevention, jaw tightness, clenching/grinding issues, or a gummy smile. Treatments are temporary and best discussed during a consultation to set appropriate expectations.

Both products use botulinum toxin type A to block nerve signals to muscles, temporarily reducing muscle activity. This relaxes muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, helping smooth lines and promote a refreshed appearance.

Yes. When injected into overactive chewing muscles, BOTOX or Xeomin can relax tension, easing pain and discomfort from TMJ disorders and bruxism, offering relief beyond cosmetic improvements.

Results usually appear within days and last about 3 to 6 months. Individual responses vary, and maintenance treatments are usually recommended to preserve effects.

These treatments are FDA‑approved and have strong safety records when administered by qualified professionals. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, such as brief soreness or minor swelling.

When placed precisely, injections relax specific muscles without causing a frozen appearance. Trained providers personalize dosages to maintain natural facial expressions while softening lines.

Yes. Strategic injections can relax the upper lip muscles, reducing the amount of gum tissue that shows when smiling. It creates a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

In many cases, neuromodulator injections can be combined with dermal fillers or other cosmetic procedures during a single appointment. A professional will advise on the best plan based on your goals.
