How long does dental implant treatment take?
We understand that when patients want dental treatment, they want it now! While dental implants do require some treatment time for their success, we believe it will be worth the wait.
Dental implant treatment consists of two phases and generally takes about 3-4 months from start to finish.
Phase One: Planning and Surgery
Proper planning is essential to the success of your new smile. Locating the ideal place for your dental implant determines its final outcome. Dr. Kromrey will make sure you have enough healthy bone to support a dental implant and that it will not interfere with your sinuses or other biological landmarks.
If you require bone grafting, Dr. Kromrey will perform it at this time.
After surgery, it will take about 3-4 months for your implant to integrate with your bone. This is what makes dental implants unique – their reliable stability.
Phase Two: Restoration
The part of treatment that everyone waits so impatiently for is the restorative process. This is when Dr. Kromrey will design and attach your crown to the dental implant post and make any final adjustments to ensure a comfortable bite. Your dental implant crown will match your other teeth, so no one sees your dental work, just your smile!
